Joyce Slayton - JSlay Beauty

I'm a Virginia based, licensed, certified, self-taught makeup artist & the owner of JSlay Beauty. I always had a love for makeup during my years in retail & restaurant management. Over time my passion for the artistry began to blossom when I started doing my own makeup & special effects for events. In 2019 I decided to do this full time while raising 5 kids right before the pandemic. My clientele grew quickly through word of mouth & I feel so blessed to be apart of the magic in this industry. I absolutely love creating long term relationships with my clients & spending time with them during such special milestones in their lives.

Melissa (Mel) Daughtry - Kabod Artistry

Melissa “Mel” Daughtry is a freelance makeup artist based in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. At 41, she never in her wildest dreams would have thought that she would be a business owner and do something that was more than just a job. Since her start almost seven years ago, Melissa has since become owner of Kabod Artistry. In 2018, she founded Hygienique, a cosmetic disposables distribution company located in the heart of Hampton Roads. She is also the recipient of the 2019 ACHI Magazine Educator of the Year Award for her knowledge and stellar ability to teach all things makeup as a beauty educator. She was named Executive Makeup Artist for the 2017 Virginia Full Figured Fashion Week Runway Show and was also a featured makeup artist for the Christian stage play The Missionary of OZ (loosely based on the play, The WIZ) (2016).
